Warenpost - International

The service Warenpost (domestic) has been deprecated on January 1, 2021. Please use the service DHL Warenpost instead.

When using the Deutsche Post Warenpost as your service you can send letters internationally that will include tracking.

Requirements:

carrier has to be dpag
package.type has to be parcel_letter
service has to be dpag_warenpost
The sender and recipient have to be located in Germany
For shipments up to 1,000g
Maximum dimensions: length 353mm, width 250mm, thickness 50mm
Minimum volume: 200 items per year
you'll have to use your own contract with the carrier

Warenpost International (Untracked)

If you do not care about tracking, you can also send international untracked letters using the Warenpost service of Deutsche Post.

Requirements:

carrier has to be dpag
package.type has to be parcel_letter
service has to be dpag_warenpost_untracked
The sender has to be located in Germany
The recipient has to be located outside of Germany
Only applicable for shipments up to 2,000g
Maximum dimensions: length 600mm, width 600mm, length + width + thickness combined 900mm
you'll have to use your own contract with the carrier

Warenpost (with signature)

When you want to make sure the recipient received the shipment you can ask the carrier to get their signature upon delivery. This works with international shipments within the EU and if you add customs declaration data you can also create a CN22 document.

Requirements:

carrier has to be dpag
package.type has to be parcel_letter
service has to be dpag_warenpost_signature
For shipments outside of the EU you will have to provide customs_declaration
The sender has to be located in Germany
The recipient has to be located outside of Germany
Only applicable for shipments up to 2,000g
Maximum dimensions: length 600mm, width 600mm, length + width + thickness combined 900mm
you'll have to use your own contract with the carrier

If you want to send books, replacement parts, electronic devices, mobile telephone accessories, data storage devices, textiles and household goods you can do so by using the service Bücher- und Warenversand by Deutsche Post AG.

The product Büchersendung has been replaced by Bücher- und Warenversand as of July 1st 2019.

Customs declaration using CN22

If you want to send a shipment to a country where a customs declaration is necessary you can specify this the following way. Detailed information about the parameters can be found in our documentation of creating a shipment.

Requirements:

customs_declaration.contents_type is mandatory
customs_declaration.currency has to be EUR
customs_declaration.items is mandatory

Pickup station (Packstation)

Besides sending via Deutsche Post to a customer you can also send shipments directly to a DHL Packstation.

Requirements:

care_of = customer id number (postnummer)
street has to be PACKSTATION
street_no = number of packstation
Only applicable for the following products:
- Bücher- und Warensendung
- Großbrief
- Maxibrief
- Warenpost
